Barbara's Favorite Sweet Treat

HOT BUNS
The ultimate cinnamon rolls.
Dough
1 cup water (warm)
1 tablespoon or package of yeast
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups flour
In medium sized bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water, sugar, oil, and salt. Slowly add flour and knead into a ball place in a bowl sprayed with cooking spray, cover with plastic wrap and allow dough to rise. On a floured surface, roll dough out into a rectangle 12” x 8” x about ¾” thick.
Filling
Half cube of butter softened
½ cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Spread softened butter across dough, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Starting at long edge roll loosely until the dough is in a log. Use floss to cut into six equal parts. About 2” thick spiral. Place in a 9” x 12” casserole dish and allow it to rise again. Preheat oven to 350º. When rolls have doubled bake for 18-20 minutes.
Sauce
1 cup sugar
½ cup butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

In a sauce pan combine sugar, butter, and egg, whisk together and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil for a minute. Take off heat and add the vanilla. Dribble over Hot Buns for extra Ahhh!

I developed this dough recipe years ago and it is still one of my favorites for sweet rolls, bread sticks, and pizza! Enjoy!!!  Barbara Ivie Green :O)
What do you consider a truly romantic evening?
Having a great home cooked meal, a glass of wine, and cuddling on the bed with the whole family and watching a favorite show.

What is your favorite romantic movie?
Pirates of the Caribbean, Groundhog Day, French Kiss.
It is too hard to pick just one!
Of your own characters whom do you consider “Most” romantic? Why?
Alec from Treasure of Egypt is the most romantic to me. I think he is the sexiest alpha-male type I’ve written, but he’s also a real hero. He’s caring, straightforward, faithful, and respectful of woman and he knows how to actually woo and woman.

What is the “Most” romantic gift you ever received? Why?
Flowers and chocolates on an ordinary day just to say I love you.
What do you consider romantic that doesn’t cost money?
I really like to cuddle, but when in public holding hands is a nice way to connect.
