Daydreaming about Christmas Past and the New Year that's upon us...

For the first time in my 25 year marriage, we celebrated Thanksgiving AND Christmas with my husband's family at our house.  My mother-in-law has been experiencing some back problems that prevented her from hosting this year.  When my husband first came home and told me that we were having Thanksgiving at our house all I could think about was how much work we needed to do before the event.  I was exhausted just thinking about everything that was wrong around our house and how our Home was not perfect.

Then as we began fixing the little things that on a day to day basis don't bother us all that much, I began to realize that I have a really big problem, and I set out to change it... My problem was my attitude... We have a beautiful home, lived in, but beautiful and we are so fortunate to have family that we are close to, and that would do anything for us.  Fretting about whether we "appear" to live in a perfect bubble seemed to be less important than learning to be not only content but thankful for all the many blessings that surround us every day.

Isn't it easy to assume that "other people" don't have dirty clothes lying around and never have a dish in the sink?  Isn't is easy to assume no one else has a neighborhood dog that's scattered their trash all over their yard?  Isn't is easy to assume that the grass is always greener on the other side of the road?

Over the holidays, I allowed myself to remember all those Christmas Holidays that I spent as a child at my grandparent's farm.  It wasn't perfect. It was old and small and paint might be peeling on the front porch, but it was warm and friendly and always stirs within me such feelings of contentment.  Once I realized that my fondest memories were of the people with whom I'd spent those holidays, I began to appreciate the opportunity, we had to create new memories with our family right in our own imperfect home.

We had such a wonderful time at Thanksgiving that we agreed to host Chrsitmas as well.  I had the best time decorating this year. I realized I didn't need anything new, and that I had plenty from years past.

Now, our house is relatively ready for visitors and my goal for the new year is not to be such a hermit.  I'm looking for more opportunities to invite family and friends to meet with us in our home so that we can create more memories with them.

Thank you to all the readers who've made Island of Secrets such a success.  THE COUNTERFEIT is doing well, and I will be starting the writing phase of my new book the end of January.

May your Days be filled with Dreams and Your New Year better than ever,

Hijacked!!! Just what I wanted on Book Release Weekend!

First off I'd like to thank everyone that dropped by my Book Launch Release party that was held on my Facebook fan page on Friday night. It was a lot of fun chatting with you.  Now, for a very troubling story.  When I got home from church this afternoon, I sat down with the laptop, turned it on and realized that I had been visited by a very unwanted guest.  A highjack malware that took over my computer, made it impossible to surf the internet and do much of anything without being in safe mode.

The news was dire. I got through to Microsoft Help and for thirty minutes discussed the issue with a tech rep only to be told that to remove the malware it would be $99.  I REALLY didn't want to pay $99 at Christmas for this.  Do you realize how many books I have to sell to make $99... I was bummed to say the least.

I prayed. I woke my hubby up from his nap to lament my troubles.  He wasn't very happy about that.  I guess it was selfish of me to want someone to share in my pain. LOL.

I prayed some more.  Logged in via safe mode and finally found a step by step solution that worked. So... Praise the Lord, four hours later, I again have control of my computer and all appears well with the world.

I did lose a chunk of my Sunday afternoon to this nonsense, but that was better than having to pay $99.  I'm happy.

THE COUNTERFEIT is now live at Amazon. I'm still waiting for it to go live at Barnes and Noble, but I'm sure it will get there soon.  (I lack patience).

Run, don't walk, run to to buy your copy.  The intro price is $2.99 but rumor is it may not last long at that price and will go up to the normal price of $4.99.

If you have a blog or website that does book reviews and you'd like to review THE COUNTERFEIT please email me at tammiecgibbs@yahoo.com and request your review copy.  We are anxious to get those reviews in.

Daydreaming about THE COUNTERFEIT my New Release will be out Dec. 15th.

Wow.  This has been a whirlwind year.  In November of 2010, my first novel was published.   Since then ISLAND OF SECRETS has been an Amazon Bestselling Gothic and Time Travel in both the US and in the UK.  I cannot say how thrilled I am that my debut novel has been received so warmly.

I love getting emails or Facebook Messages from readers who are willing to share with me how much they loved the book.  Not everyone has liked it, but as I've said before, that's really to be expected.  I don't LOVE everything I read either.  If that were the case, it would probably be boring.

On Dec. 15th (cross your fingers with me) THE COUNTERFEIT my second novel will be released on Amazon.  Hopefully, it will be live then.  I'll be celebrating on Facebook the entire weekend with a "Special Launch Party" so I hope some of you will drop by and say hello.   I will be giving away a few copies.

THE COUNTERFEIT is a Midwestern Historical Romantic Suspense.  In the late 1800's, the Secret Service's primary function was to bring Counterfeiters to justice.  My story takes place in a small down just outside of Chicago where noone is who they appear to be and even the least likely characters are harboring secrets no one would have imagined.

When my hero, Jeremy Loud wakes up naked, disoriented and in physical pain, he finds the last thing he expects, a mysterious woman busy at his stove.

Magen is a woman on a mission to recover the deed to her farm and bring the man responsible for her father's death to justice.  Then life gets in the way and a case of mistaken identity and an unfortunate accident bring her face to face with  a handsome stranger that will force her to not only guard her true identity but most importantly her heart.

If you enjoy small town stories where ordinary people get caught up in extraordinary circumstances I believe you'll really enjoy THE COUNTERFEIT.

I hope that you'll be sure to grab the sample and that if you enjoy it I hope that you'll enjoy Jeremy and Magen's story.  I really enjoyed the characters in this book and I think you will too.

Please help me spread the word. THE COUNTERFEIT is coming Dec. 15th.

Happy Daydreaming,
